A Maria Enzersdorf (Mödling) amfiteátrum
One of the very romantic spots of the Vienna Woods (Wienerwald): an artificial “Roman” ruin, from 1810-11, built by Johann Joseph I. von Liechtenstein. Designed by Joseph Hardtmuth whose name probably is the best known from the graphite pencil.
A Bécsi-erdő egyik igen romantikus helyszíne: mesterséges “római” rom, 1810-111-ből. I. Johann Joseph von Liechtenstein építtette, Joseph Hardtmuth tervezte, akinek a nevét leginkább a grafitceruzáról ismerjük.
If you are in Vienna, it’s worth to take a day trip to Mödling and wander about from there. I spent 2 days and it was not enough… So this is one place:

Directions: take the local train S-Bahn 1,2 or 3 from Vienna city toward Wiener Neustadt, get off at Mödling. It costs 2 Euros extra with the ordinary ticket you use in Vienna, half an hour travel and the rest is walking. Click on any of the photos for the map.
Útbaigazítás: az 1-es, 2-es vagy 3-as S-Bahnnal (HÉV-szerű vonat) kell jönni Bécsből Bécsújhely (Wiener Neustadt) felé, Mödlingig. Két eurós jegyet kell venni a rendes bécsi jegyhez, félóra az út, a többi meg már csak séta. Bármelyik képre kattintva meglátod, hol van a térképen.
