POEM: No more waiting

A little bit more than three years ago, in the summer of 2012, I was living on a farm in Sweden, on an island just outside Stockholm. One brilliant day, watching this horse in the backyard got me thinking:

NO MORE WAITING

No more waiting for the man to call you,
No more waiting for him to say: “I want you”,

No more waiting for the anointed ones
to tell: “You are a good girl”,

No more waiting for buddies
to say: “We like you, here’s a small pearl”,

No more waiting for the big ones
to give you tiny bread crumbs,

No more waiting for the fences
to break down,

No more waiting for the weather
to bring sunshine,

You gotta move on.

No More Waiting

That was the moment when I decided to close one longer chapter of my life: I arrived to Sweden with my then-husband almost seven years before that, in December 2005, and although this Scandinavian country is a gorgeous place, somehow it just didn’t catch my heart – therefore on that beautiful summer day I figured out it was time to take a break from it.

I enjoyed the scenery and the peace of this environ, also, people were more friendly than in the city, but when things generally come to a standstill, you must take a step forward.

On a hot summer day, nothing moves on the horse race course... Ska, Faringso Island, Sweden, July 2012

Also, settling down in just one location doesn’t seem to be my thing at all: this world is so full of wonders, I want to see and experience much of it! Maybe I was born to be a nomad.

It took me a few more months to wrap up things, then I packed my stuff and went back to my parents in Hungary in a 40-ton truck, arrived to them on my Mom’s birthday right before Christmas.

Since then, I spent most of my time in the HungaryAustriaCzech Republic triangle – I love this part of Europe a lot, we have so much in common culturally, historically. I also went back to Sweden a couple of times, and it was already very different: now I felt incomparably better when I knew that I did not have to be there.

I had some of the best times in the past almost 3 years: I have been discovering new places, meeting new friends and connecting up with old ones and with relatives, had the most wonderful relationship so far, I am closer to my family, and grew in my career as a singer.

But now, the time has come again to take a step to another level, in all the areas of my life.

I have several options as for traveling, as for career as an artist and other opportunities, personal development and other fields as well, and I am looking forward to see how things develop.

Feeling like a twenty-something who’s set out to discover this Big, Big World and to make a Big, Big Life 🙂
